About LA Art Theory

LA Art Theory was started as an outlet to discuss happenings in the art world, especially around Los Angeles, from a theoretical perspective. The project covered exhibitions, theoretical trends, issues of art-making and viewership, and anything relevant to the arts from 2011 to 2013.

Creator and editor, January Parkos Arnall, is a strategic museum leader experienced in mission and vision development, relationship building, and operational and curatorial oversight in the art and culture sectors. In her time as a curator at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, the MCA Chicago, and as an independent curator, she has built and facilitated hundreds of programs, performances, exhibitions, and opportunities for community exchange in museums and cultural organizations. She is an accomplished public speaker and interlocutor whose genuine curiosity in many fields of popular culture contributes to engaging experiences for speakers and audiences.
